The Phoenix Project provides homeless veterans in Mesa County access to affordable, stable housing and individually tailored case management services in an effort to transition them from homelessness into self-sufficiency.
The program can currently house 8 homeless veterans in an apartment complex owned and operated through a partnership formed with HomewardBound and Housing Resources of Western Colorado. Rents are based on 30 and 40 percent of Area Median Income (currently $240 and $320). Eligible tenants will meet the following criteria:
- Be Homeless
- Have an income source
- Have at least 90 days sobriety
- Have the willingness for case management with weekly home visits
